Sambar Masala
Mix for South Indian Sambar.
Sambar Masala

Sambar Masala. Used for making the Southern Indian Sambar. Masalas should be stored in dark airtight jars and as a rule improve with a bit of age.
Ingredients
1 cup Channa dhal
¾ cup Coriander seed
10 dry chillies
1 tspn Black pepper
¼ tspn Fenugreek seed
¼ tspn Asafoetida
Method
Dry fry all ingredients except Asafoetida. Grind all together when lukewarm and store.
